Chicago’s Best Cheeseburgers

Hopefully some full length reviews will be coming soon, but for now I just wanted to post my top 3 Chicago Cheeseburgers.

1. Rosebud Steakhouse – The best cheeseburger in Chicago.  Comes with classic toppings, and a cheese of your choice served on a pretzel bun.  I recommend the aged cheddar.  What makes this burger so great is the quality of the meat and the way it is seasoned.  The burger is nice and thick, and usually cooked to perfection.  To top it off, its easy to make reservations at Rosebud Steakhouse, so the burger is very accessible.  I have been here multiple times over the past few years and have never been disappointed.

2. Kuma’s Corner – Definitely the most “in” burger at the time of this post.  However, the burgers are as good as people claim.  I’ve only been once, on a Saturday at noon, and I had to wait an hour.  It was worth the wait.  Kuma’s burgers all come with a wide variety of interesting toppings.  I opted for the Kuma burger on my only trip there – Cheddar, fried egg and bacon served on a pretzel bun.  The burger was thick, juicy and cooked perfectly.  The appetizers were great as well, particularly the pulled pork french fries.

3. DMK Burger Bar – This place opened last October, and I finally made it in for a burger this weekend.  The burger’s are thinner and served diner style, so you don’t have choice as to how the meat is cooked.  However, all of our burgers came out at a perfect medium with a pink center.  I had the #4, which includes green chiles, a fried egg, bacon and jack cheese.  The bun on the burger is thin but delicious.  I also recommend the sweet potato fries.
